As a DCB Board Mentor, you would have the opportunity to mentor a student the DCB Board has awarded a scholarship. Our mentoring program has a minimal time commitment and a huge impact.
Mentor Process:
1. Contact the student to Award their scholarship. (When students receive a scholarship, you get to deliver the happy news!)
2. Speak with the student and their family to assist in placing them in a program of their choosing. (They applied for a scholarship with a specific interest in mind, some students have programs in mind, some may need assistance in finding a suitable program).
3. Once the program has been selected, contact DCB to coordinate payment and completion.
4. Check in periodically to ensure that the student is successful in their partnership (attendance, program is interesting and a good fit).
Distinctively College Bound Mentors will be asked to commit to the following:

Distinctively College Bound Mentors will be asked to commit to the following:
- Attend a Mentor Workshop on October 5th from 7:00-9:00pm.
- Serve as a Mentor for one year, from October 2016 through September 2017
- Mentor up to 5 students (responsibilities include programs for students, signing students up for programs, keeping in contact with families and programs to ensure that students are attending and the program is satisfactory)
- Keep in contact with the DCB Board (we are here to support you!)
- Commit approx. 2-3 hours/month to arranging programs for scholarship winners and communicate with winners & families
