Serve on and commit work time to one of the following committees:
Marketing |
The marketing committee works together to promote DCB and its mission through social media and other avenues, arrange and promote ticket sales to events, write thank you notes to donors, solicit money from potential donors in various ways, think of new ways to reach supporters of DCB. (Much of this work can be done on a board member’s own time, outside of monthly DCB Board meetings.) The marketing committee works closely with the logistics committee to organize event details and promote them accordingly. In the future, the marketing committee would like to do more work highlighting our scholarship recipients and their teachers who advocate for them.
|
Scholarship |
The scholarship committee works together to promote DCB and its mission through collecting scholarship applications, working with the committee to choose scholarship winners, fostering a relationship between a Mentor and scholarship winner, participate in Mentor Training meetings and facilitate a Mentor Program. (Much of this work can be done on a board member’s own time, with a few extra committee meetings through the year.) The scholarship committee works closely with the logistics and marketing committees to see that students are highlighted as they are awarded scholarships.
|
Logistics |
The logistics committee works together to promote DCB and its mission by helping to plan all DCB events including a fall, winter, and spring event, securing food and auction item donations, finding venues and caterers, etc. For each event there will be a committee member who is head of the event. This member will take the lead on planning the event and working closely with the committee chair. (This committee requires some meetings and work outside of monthly DCB Board meetings, especially around the time of events) The logistics committee works closely with the entire board to ensure that all events run smoothly.
